One of those weeks

Well, it has definitely been one of those weeks. I cannot begin to tell you how much I have missed my car!! It is at the garage as we speak being fitted with a new clutch. Thankfully, the warranty on the car covers this otherwise I would have been a seriously unhappy bunny.

I've been to see the Dermo man (dermatologist) who confirms my suspicions....I must be allergic to something but as yet, we don't know what. My gut feeling is that my face is allergic to water......I know how bizarre that sounds but I really think it might be. Anyways, allergy tests are on the horizon so that's really good news but the best bit of news Dermo man gave me was that he has prescribed an emergency quick repair kit in case my skin flares up when I'm away on holiday next month.....am really pleased about that!!

Then my poorly, wonderful Dad, whom I love to bits is really not at all well. He's landed up in hospital with pneumonia. My parents still live in south London and I am carless so it's been quite a week as you can imagine. Having said that, and I know we all complain about the NHS, the hospital are doing a brilliant job of taking care of him.

And then of course, there was the NEC. I had a lovely day out with Karen.....retail therapy does wonders for a fed up girl!!!  We met up with Mary and Carol and did the usual show'n'tell thingy and I think we all agree that we spent more than we intended to.

When you see it all laid out like this, it doesn't look very much....oh silly me, that's not all of it!!!
Am very excited about my silk screens....can't wait to try them out.

And my last purchase which is not shown here as it is being posted to me, is a cross stitch kit!!!!  I know, I can't believe a bought a cross stitch kit either but I fell in love with it. It's a three panel jobby made from one of Michael Powell's original drawings of Venice. If you are intrigued enough to go take a look, click here to hop on over to his website. Karen told me that some of his images were actually available as stamps too and of course it would have been rude not to buy one of those too.

So, I'm just waiting for the phone call to say that my car is ready......tapping fingers and getting impatient now.

The weather is beautiful here at the moment, so I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Gosh, a lot going on! Good luck with the Dermo man/allergies. Hope your Dad recovers quickly, hope your car comes back (fixed) quickly.
Nice looking purchases! My big purchase today was 2 days at ArtsyCrafts Warrington... YAY! See you then!

Gosh, you don't do things by halves - a 3 panel cross stitch?!
Hope your Dad is soon well again, and your car fixed so you can get to see him.
Sending hugs.

Oh my! I hope your dad's feeling more comfortable now. It's awful when you feel marooned by not having a car but when he's in hospital too it must be doubly difficult. Hope the car is soon back with you and that your dad's out of hospital equally quickly!

Lovely, lovely stash! Looking forward to seeing all this become something beautiful!

My Lin, I am exhausted just reading this!!!! I do so hope your dear Dad is on the mend and that you get to see him very soon. In another life, before rubber, metal and inks, I loved doing counted cross stitch, the very complicated kind of patterns, on Irish linen!!! You weill enjoy, I am sure, it is very therapeutic!!

Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he feels better soon. I spy a lot of familiar loking threads and fibres in your sprending spree madam - have fun using!
