Fabulous Weekend

I have just had such a fun weekend with a group of girls who have become friends through their hobby and via Twitter. A few months ago there was a lot of chatter among the group of girls about taking a class with me as a way of having a crafting weekend and also as a way of meeting each other. Although some of the girls knew a couple of people in person, they had not all met as a whole group. A date was set, projects decided upon, two days of making stuff....sounded like a fun weekend to me! Throw lots of laughter, some chocolate, a touch of shopping and you definitely get a fabulous weekend. The weather on Sunday was just gorgeous and here we all are, in the little courtyard outside The Bead Scene where I hosted the classes. It felt like having a school photograph taken but it turned out pretty good really, so thank you Karen for becoming our official photographer.

Back row L-R  Jax, Emma, Me, Lesley and Janet.
Front Row L-R  Sam, Helen, Jacqui and Lin S.

I have way too many photographs of work in progress but I just wanted to share a few pics with you of the amazing work these girls did over the weekend. I hope I've managed to assign the projects to the correct people!!!

I just had to show you a close up shot of Emma's Resin flower, the colours were stunning, I believe she used Squid Ink Fresco Finish paint and Royal Amethyst Treasure Gold. I'm really not a purple kind of gal but this was just beautiful.

Then last but not least Lin S.

So I think you'll agree, they all worked very hard but there was some down time too. We all got together for a meal on Saturday evening at an American diner where we were joined by Andrew, Jax's husband and Gabrielle who is also a Twitter girl and lives close by.....a fun evening but way too much food!!!

So thank you girls for such a fun weekend and an even bigger thank you for my lovely, lovely gifts....I feel very spoilt. All I need to do know is finish packing my suitcase as Mark and I are off at stupid o'clock in the morning to catch a 6.30 flight. We are heading off to Malta for a few days where the weather is looking really rather lovely.

It was a complete blast (if you discount Travel Lodge, lol!) and it was so lovely to meet Jax and Lesley who I'd only met "virtually" before... and lovely to catch up with the others again. Thank you so much for 2 amazing projects, endless patience with us all, the lifts to and from the trian, and great company over dinner too. I would love to do it again. I'm hooked on classes! Have a fabulous holiday.
