A couple of days ago I received a very unexpected email from a lovely lady who runs the Tando Creative Challenge blog asking my permission to print pictures of some of my work. The challenge this month is to create something that has been inspired by their favourite artist and so you could have knocked me down with a feather when I realised that I was someones favourite artist!!! Please click here to hop on over to  Coco's blog where she explains how and where we met and also shares her beautiful work using my stamps and Paperartsy Fresco paint in conjunction with Tando Creative products. After a visit to Coco's place, why not hop on over to the Tando Creative Challenge blog and maybe join in the fun too....you could win a prize!!!

I got some new texture tools recently and thought it would be fun to try them out with some Grunge Paste.

I used both the wide and narrower one to find out which I liked the best.

When it was dry, I painted over it with some Chocolate Pudding and Bora Bora Fresco Finish paint. I used the Chocolate Pudding to dry brush over the Bora Bora and the Bora Bora to dry brush over the Chocolate Pudding, this softened and blended everything together as they are two quite strong colours.

I then used Mermaid Fresco to stencil a couple of designs over the Chocolate Pudding areas and carefully positioned some of the Fleur De Lys so that they would appear around a little arch that I wanted to use. Once the paint was dry,  I felt that they were a little bright for my shabby background and at this point decided to dry brush a little bit of Chocolate Pudding over the top.

This is a fun little arch by Tando Creative which are available at The Craft Barn.  I painted the solid one with Nougat so that when I stamped a face on it, it would already have a nice skin tone and a good base for me to paint in the rest of the image with translucent Frescos. The Arch Frame had some Grunge Paste applied to it before applying a layer of Chocolate Pudding and a touch of Treasure Gold.

Image is from PaperArtsy LP001.

I also added some Treasure Gold to the textured areas of my background.......I'm liking my new chunky texture tools!!!

I made a little banner embellishment by painting over a little wooden Prima banner and stamping "True North" from PaperArtsy LP001, added a few flowers, beads and a tassel for the finishing touches. I have to say, I really do like this colour combination.

PaperArtsy stamps, Fresco Finish paint and Grunge Paste can be purchased from the following lovely people:
