Easter Holiday

Happy Easter everyone. I have to say, I'm loving my little Easter break, me thinks I could get used to this not working malarkey!!!! I know that that is not likely to happen any time soon so I'll just enjoy the rest of my time off and it will be back to normal on Tuesday.

So the Easter Holiday fun began with a girlie day on Friday to the Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham with the lovely Karen and Sweet Pea. We had a really nice day mooching around the shops.....I managed to spend some of my hard earned cash....well a tad more than some actually, but my favourite purchase has to be my new Fossil watch. Tis very clever and dead cute!!!! The watch face rotates and it clips on to the watch strap so you can mix and match straps to suit your outfit....I love it.

Here it is with the cool key cover showing.

Hit the magic button to flip the face over to find out what the time is!!!!!

Yesterday I spent a fun afternoon finishing off my Tim Holtz printers tray. I tissue taped and painted it to within an inch of it's life some time ago and it has been calling me for quite a while, so yesterday I got to finish it which is quite a rewarding feeling when something has been on your mind for a long time.

I did struggle to get good pictures though, yesterday it was late and the light wasn't good and in the daylight today, it's too sunny.....I can't win!!!

It's filled with stuff that I've painted with Paperartsy's Fresco Finish paint.....love that stuff....I might need to buy it in litre bottles though.....hint, hint, Leandra if you're reading this. It's also got quite a bit of Tim Holtz Idea-ology in it as well as some of Tim's die cut shapes plus a whole host of bits and bobs that I've collected over the years.

I've done a few close ups of some of my favourite bits. All the compartments have been lined with Tim Holtz paper from the Crowded Attic collection which gives a great backdrop for anything. This one contains some of Tim's corked vials that I've painted with Fresco Finish paint and then stamped with Black Archival ink. I've found the easiest way to stamp a bottle is to lay the stamp upside down on the table and roll the bottle across the inked stamp....it works a treat.

One of Tim's fob watches with a few bits of Idea-ology inside.

The good news is that I love this Penny Farthing bike with a Curio Knob stuck on it but the bad news is that I just realised that it must have slipped before the glue was dry and the back wheel is up in the air.........drat!!!!!

I still love anything related to sewing, these scissors are just so cute. We sold out of these at Ally Pally recently but as soon as our next order arrives, we will get them on the website for you.

A few cogs and more corked vials.

An ornate frame, framing the number two in my 1,2,3 boxes.

A corked vial with tissue tape.

Love this one.....Tim's Caged Bird die cut from Grungpaper. Everything has been painted with Fresco Finish paint and the little birdie guy has had the crackle treatment. If you haven't tried this Crackle Glaze yet......well....all I can say is that you are missing out on something fabulous, this is by far the best crackle that I have ever used and believe me, I have tried quite a few!!!!
I die cut a strip from the Iron Gate die and painted it gold to match my birdcage, edged it with some Jet Black Archival ink and stuck the Iron Gate on the bottom of the cage to make it a bit more ornate before punching holes in it so that I could dangle my pearls, these were from Tim's pack of Baubles......so pretty.

Here's a better view of my birdie guy.

Another shot of my favourite square, I think you can see the detail on the bottles better in this shot.

Okay, that's me. I'm off to eat chocolate and make some else. Enjoy the rest of the holiday.
