Today has been Colorwash day. I've been using the fabulous Colourwash and Perfect Pearl Mists by Ranger all day today in an effort to make some new samples for my display boards at the Stevenage show in February. It has been quite a productive day, as you can see, I was on a bit of a roll with the backgrounds. I figured out a way to use the Colorwash in a way that gave me a more muted look. I'll share this technique with you after the show as it is going to be part of my demo.
As you can see, I'm really not the tidiest of workers. There's Paperartsy stamps, Wendy Vecchi stamps and many varieties of ink which actually was a bit of an experiment to see which ink I like the best stamped on top of the Colorwash/Perfect Pearl Mist. I came to the conclusion that Rangers Adirondack Pigment inks hit the spot, great coverage even with stamps that have a larger surface area of rubber.
Now I'm typing this blog post from home but I normally do it on my laptop which I foolishly left at the shop. I'm familiar with all the programmes on there and as you know I'm not a genius when it comes to anything technical...I only just figured how to tweet on Twitter, so you'll not be surprised when I tell you that I can't rotate my photographs. I know that's really mean but you'll have to wait until tomorrow for picture of my samples....sorry! 
Answer....you use one of these miracle babies.....it's a Craft Scrubbie by Ranger.....no I'm not on commission from Ranger, I just love thier stuff and this has to be the find of the century!!
Look at me now....all squeaky clean......fantastic......I am beyond impressed.

That scrubbie really works then! It sounded too good to be true.... Look forward to seeing the samples, the backgrounds look fantastic.
What great backgrounds and what fantastic illustration that the scrubbie really does work - you never can tell with all the products on the market - but that one sure does - a MUST HAVE if ever I saw one. Thanks for the demo!
Going to have to get one of those scrubbies. My fingers always look like yours did. It's nice to see someone else's work area looks like mine.
Loved the shot of the messy studio table. Mine looks about as bad when I'm finished with a piece. The problem with mine,is that my studio is a homemade studio table/coffee table in the middle of my apartment:P
Looking forward to seeing the finished samples. Haven't got any colour washes yet but I am sure I can be convinced lol.

I just found your flower tutorial (thanks to Hels) and it is amazing! Now I hve to go get some more dies, and metal, and those fab stamps... Anyway, thanks for a great tutorial!
