Snowed in!!

Snow, snow and more snow!!! I was in the shop yesterday when it started gently snowing late morning. I wasn't too worried to begin with, it was just really fine stuff and although it was settling on the ground, it had taken about two hours to get about 1 cm. Then the sky became very grey and it began snowing a bit more. At this point, I got a phone call from Mark to say it was snowing quite a lot in Milton Keynes where we live and I should consider going home. Boy, am I glad I did. A customer had told me that she had just seen the gritting truck and that the main roads were okay. In the twenty minutes that it took me to cash up, turn everything off and lock the shop, the roads were a complete mess and it took an hour to drive home. This usually only takes 15/20 minutes!!! The dual carriageway was a complete white out and visibility was not good. This has to rank top on my list on the scary journeys!!!!

Snow also stopped work on my studio too!!!!! This was the view from the kitchen window this morning.

The only good news is that Meg, my little doggie, loves it!!! She's like a little snow plough in it. She's been running around the garden at the speed of light with her nose under the five inches of snow. At least someone is happy.
So if you are housebound because of the bad weather, stay warm and maybe you could have a creative day instead of Christmas shopping.

Glad you got home safely! I am hoping it clears enough so I can get to my Mum's next week for Christmas! (and home again after..) Till then, crafting sounds the best idea.

A wise move setting off home early. There is nothing worse than driving in hazardous conditions. x

Meg is just too cute! We've been lucky not to have the bad weather in Omaha this year, but after last year's holiday blizzard, I'm so thankful for some milder weather! Stay warm!
