Been having a bit of a creative day

Today I decided that I would spend some time putting together a couple of new samples to take to the Craft Barn next weekend. Although I was using products that I am very familiar with, I wanted to try and achieve some different colour combinations and even if I say so myself......I am quite pleased with the results.
The above pic has a gold Ferro background that has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist. I used Tiger Lily and Jazz blue...the results......a very mediterranean look which I absolutely loved. Orange and turquoise might be my new favourite colour combination!! The big metal piece is actually a piece of Bronzed God metal. It has a bit of Kaisers Sea Breeze acrylic paint on the top followed by copper and gold Inka Gold by Viva.....very rich colours. Not sure if the photographs do justice to the colours though. For the flowers I used Gold Nugget metal. The tiny centre piece and two background layers were stamped in Stazon using the grunge flowers from one of paperartsy's Hot Picks plates and the five pointy petal layer is a Go Create die. All the layers, were tape sandwiches (metal, humungo sticky tape & card) and finished off with a touch of Pool alcohol ink. Probably seen better in the following close ups.

This sample has Terra as the background with Sea Breeze, Antique White and Mushroom acrylic paints. Topped off with copper Inka Gold.
The big metal background is Dark Chocolate metal. The top layer of chocolate paint has been removed with Pool alcohol ink and copper Inka Gold as high lights. The embellies are made from Gold Nugget metal and the dragonfly, which is a Paperartsy die, is coloured with Copper and Cobalt Inka Gold....just loving that Inka Gold...we call it goop, much less of a mouthful that Inka Gold!

Another couple of close ups.

If you would like to see just how vivid these colours really are, I will have these samples on my demo desk at the Craft Barn next weekend.
But the most exciting thing for me today was figuring out a new sandwich combination for Cuttlebug users. I recently swapped over to a Big Shot (I do still use my Cuttlebug too) but we are now stocking Big Shots in the shop but of course many of you guys have Cuttlebugs and want to use your TSS moulds in your bug, so for bug users the combo is:
A plate
B plate
Kabuka or Big Daddy mould
metal
Silicone mat
It is a little bit tight, but it works a treat....no refining required!!!
For Big shot users:
Multi platform (un-opened)
Kabuka or Big Daddy mould
Metal
Silicone mat
2 or 3 sheets of card
Have a great weekend, Lin

Beautiful samples as always. Its nice to get a play day sometimes. All work and no play as they say..... I love this colour combination too, I use turquoise and terracota quite a bit but then again I love turquoise. Hope the demos run smoothly. Have a good evening. Tracy Evans x

These are two gorgeous pieces of artwork Linda. I was totally awed by the fabulous array of inspiration in your workshop when my friends and I came for Linda E's workshop last Wednesday.

What a fantastic time we had! The workshop was great and Linda E was just as much fun as we knew she'd be.
I so wish I lived nearer so I could do more workshops.

I also had a smashing time spending in the shop afterwards. Oh, what fabulous goodies you have!

Hugs
Lesley Xx

Hi Lin, what lovely samples. I've been thinking about making a smaller version of the 3 x 3 hanging we did on the weekend and you've just given me some more inspiration. Only sorry I can't make the October ArtsyCrafty as it sounds fantastic.

Lovely samples, especially the colours of the last one.
Love the theme of the next Artsy craft event so I wish I could come again.
