It's been a while!!!

Yikes, has it really been ten days since I posted anything on my blog? I've been a tad busy with a paint brush.....painting my kitchen. I thought it would take me three days at the most.....how wrong can you be??? The kitchen was a very pale grey colour and I decided it was time for a big splash of colour.....how does lime green sound? I can hear you all groaning  and mumbling to yourself "what was she thinking?" Actually, at first, I think Mark thought I had completely lost the plot but he's sooooo laid back about everything  he just said you choose the colour....you know what you're doing!!!! I have quite a reasonable size kitchen and thought that lime green on every wall may be a bit too much, even for me, so I got a much paler green for some of the walls. The lime green went up a treat....only one coat needed.....perfect! Started on the pale green and didn't like it! The glare from the lime green made it look yellow!!! I'm not really a lover of yellow so I had another trip to B&Q for an alternative colour. I decided to go really neutral....it's almost magnolia. I really liked the idea of lime, cream and dark brown accessories......just one tiny problem.....it took three coats of cream paint to cover the pale grey.......I was not amused!!! Anyways, painting is all finished now, just waiting for Mark to put up my new blinds.

I have spent the rest of the week making stuff to hang on one of my cream walls which has been a lot more fun than painting them!!! I found some really cool  pictures that I wanted to hang but I also needed to bring the green in somehow, so I had the idea that I should paint squares of lime green behind the things I wanted to hang.....kind of like a frame....really like how it turned out.

The picture on the left is actually glass so you can see the green through it and the map on the right has a border of green around it. I think my giant ampersand has to be my favourite thing though. It's made from mdf and I covered it with Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap and Tissue Tape before watering down my lime green paint which I used to wash over it. THink I may make a little something to sit on the flat part of the ampersand.

Phew, I'm a bit weary....not used to all the physical work but I am really pleased it's done, it looks so different.

And now for something completely different! I had a conversation with the lovely Karen this week and amongst other things we were chatting about my classes and something came to light that I feel I need to clarify. Payment can be made through PayPal either from a PayPal account or using your own credit or debit card. It appears that a few people have been deterred from booking simply because of this.
