Busy, busy weekend

Oh my, what a hectic but fun weekend I've just had. I had quite an early start on Saturday morning, leaving home at 6.45 to head down to The Craft Barn in Lingfield for a day of demonstrating at their fabulous Extravaganza. What an amazing event this is, 28 demonstrators were there showcasing all the latest and greatest products in the crafting industry and of course there is the most beatiful shop just cram packed with all things stampy, inky, painty, name it....they have it!

The day simply flew by....I met up with lots of people that I have known for guys know who you are......and thank you all for your lovely comments. I met lots of Twitter folks too as well as some brand new faces. What I love about this event is that the customers can gain so much inspiration and knowledge all for free and everyone is so keen to learn....I love it!!

I was soooo busy, I'm afraid I didn't take many photographs but here are a few pics of some of the pieces I made on the day. I was using all things PaperArtsy....stamps, paints, papers and dies as well as a few of the Memory Box dies and Crafters Warehouse stencils.

And this was the aftermath of a day playing with paint!

After a quick catch up with a few of the other demonstrators.....Leandra, Linda Elbourne, Jo Firth-Young, Helen Chilton, Jean Hardy and Julie Hickey, it was a mad dash home to prepare for my class the next morning!!!!

This was the first of my classes to be held at The Bead Scene in Potterspury. It's in a beautiful location on a farm just off the A5 (I really must take photos of it, it's just lovely) and the wonderful Steph made us all welcome as we invaded her beautiful workspace. I did warn her that we're quite a messy lot and we would be using paint quite a bit, but she was very laid back about the whole thing and luckily we didn't get paint anywhere we shouldn't!!

My amazing ladies all  worked really hard.....painting and stencilling and stamping and more painting and colouring with Prismacolor get the idea!

And when all these bits 'n' bobs were assembled, they each had a cute little mini book.

So thank you ladies for coming, it was fun sitting in the teacher seat again....can't wait for the end of the month when I teach my two day Altered Book class!!

Just a little bit of a heads up for you regarding classes...... as I am basically only teaching one class a month, each time one class has been completed, I will be poppong the next class up for sale in the following couple of days. Hopefully, tomorrow I will have a new one up for grabs!

Hope you all have a fun week.

It was great to see you at work at the Craft Barn, I really enjoyed myself, it is such an inspiring event. Thanks so much for showing me how you blended your poppy dies into the background panel, so sorry Ihad to dash for my train before you had finished the panel, I would have loved to see it finished. I agree with you Linda, these events are totally unique and amazing!!! I was part of a crowd from an online forum, and we had two from New Zealand, one from Germany, Portugal, and one from the Isle of Man!!!! It was wonderful to see you again, and I wish I had had more time to watch you weave your magic - but I did come home and immediately tried the crackle on material and it worked beautifully - I now have a lovely background to work on!!!! I used Muslin, and I also did one on a close weave material, think it is curtain lining!!! Anyway, it worked!!!! See you there next year, if not sooner xx

Sorry Michelle, I'm not going to be at Stevenage this time. It is the weekend of my birthday and I have worked on my birthday since Stevenage began so I am actually going to have a birthday this year.
