I would like you to meet......

I would like to introduce you to my new friend Penny. Her full title is Mrs Penny Pennypot as she is my new penny jar!!! Penny started life as a bottle of lemonade. On a trip to Kew Gardens earlier this year, Mark and I had some lunch in the restaurant there and all the soft drinks came in these cute little bottles. Poor Mark carried an empty bottle around in his camera bag for me as I knew it would become something entirely different at a later date.
I started by changing the colour of the bottle. I knew I was going to use alcohol inks but I didn't want it to wear off so I coloured the inside. Simply squirt some ink inside the bottle and roll it around until it is all covered.

Penny's skirt and hair are made from Tim Holtz Grungepaper and coloured with Distress Ink. I used the direct to paper technique for a more intense colour.

The Grungepaper has been snipped with scissors to make a fringe and then I rolled a strip up to make a cork for the bottle which also became Penny's new hairdo!!!

So here she is in all her glory.

And a few close ups for you to get to know her better.

This girl just loves her jewellery! It's all made from Tim Holtz Idea-o-logy goodies.

Now she's showing off her layered skirt.

She just loves to show off her crown.

Now she's begging for my money!!!!!!

I made a little housey thing for her to live in, hope you like her new sewing room.

Okay, so that's Penny. I'm holiday next week, maybe I'll find Penny a boyfriend!!!!
Ooo and don't forget......classes go on sale at 10am tomorrow. I'm off to get my nails done.
Have a lovely weekend, Lin

Brilliant!! I am off to Kew tomorrow, I must have a drink so I can grab me one of those fabulous bottles. And what a cracking idea to put the alcohol ink inside.
Both Penny and her house are just amazingly wonderful. Good luck with the classes sale tomorrow!
