Ally Pally......the aftermath!

So today has been a real fun day.....unloading the van in the rain and getting all the equipment and spare stock back up the fire escape which is such a pleasant job when the wooden stairs are slippery because of the rain!!!!!! Anyway, it's all done now and and I'm so am I. All the orders that we took at the show for items that we ran out of are all organised and in the mail to you......if you didn't already know, Karen is officially Mrs Ultra Efficient, shetook care of all of that for me this morning.

The show was fun, got to see lots of familiar faces, met lots of new people too. Also got to meet loads of golden ticket holders for our event with Tim in February.....boy, are you guys excited or what!!!!! I meet a group of ladies from Norway and someone from Bulgaria, there were people there from France and Malaysia!!!

Linda and I had a wonderful time, doing our thing for two whole days, Mark and Karen manned the tills for two days solid....you guys sure know how to spend and for that I must say a huge thank you. But the biggest thank you has to be to all you very kind people who admired our work, your appreciation of what we do means such a lot, it makes all the hard work so worthwhile.

I thought I would share a few pics with you from the weekend. The first one is a close up of the bracelets we made with Tim's Ideaology range and look.....clean hands and nails, they sure didn't look like that after two days of inking and spraying paints!!!!! Oh, and Linda E's demo desk looks remarkably clean too....good job I didn't get a picture of the drawer in her demo table, you would have been seriously shocked. Over the weekend, I found out that I say seriously quite frequently, so Linda that last "seriously" was just for you!!!!

Now both Karen and Linda are gonna kill me for posting this picture. We all hate having a photo taken ( and believe it or not, this was the best one out of the six that Mark took but I just wanted to to show you a peek of the stand before it was ravaged by hoards of people with an art addiction.
On day 1, I made sample after sample and as usual, gave them to all my lovely customers but forgot to take any pictures, so come day 2, I was determined to get a few snaps of some of the samples before they departed so that you guys who didn't get to the show had a chance to see what I was up to. I was using all things Ten Seconds Studio, PaperArtsy, some of Tim Holtz stamps as well as a few of Wendy Vecchi's new ones.
I started by spraying some grey board with Crafty Notions Spraypaques, it just soaked right into the board and left a wonderful shimmer sitting on the surface. I also used these to spray the metal that I had embossed. One this was dry, I stamped the greyboard using Rangers Jet Black Archival ink and for the finishing touch to the metal, I used alcohol ink to remove the paint from the high points of the embossed images......I really love this look.

All the pieces I made had some of Tim Holtz Tissue Tape which I blended into the background with Distress Inks. And then of course there's the embellishments, most of these I made with PaperArtsy stamps and dies.....don't you just love this grungeflower die?????
Here are a few of the other samples I made.

Okay, that's it from me for today, I'm off for an early night.

Hi Lin -

So glad everything went well and thank you for the lovely photos. You and the ladies looked like professional hand models! Your samples are just stunning, simply lovely! May I ask a question? What is grey board, is it something specific to the UK?

Do you mean you gave some of those samples away? Surely not!!!
If so I want to make one at the next AC weekend - they are fab-u-lous!

Hi Elaine

Greyboard is just like very inexpensive chipboard. Because it is not great quality, it is really sucky and the Spraypaques instantly soak in, it's just fab.

And Neet, yep, I gave all the samples away, I always do when I'm demoing at a show. I'll try and bring one to Warrington for you.

Wow those samples are amazing - was in London at the weekend visiting my son at uni - wished now I'd managed to persuade him to visit Ally Pally. Hopefully I'll see you instead at Artisan on Friday
