A spot of shopping

It's been a fun few days.......on Thursday I went to the knitting & stitching show at Ally Pally with Jo and Karen......Oh my, what a fabulous day we had. Now that I am delving into the world of fabric, I can now appreciate what this show really represents. Anyone who is interested in any type of textiles would have a field day at this show. There were exhibitors with all kinds of wool, fabric, fibres, felt buttons and the list just goes on and on and on. We were all pretty much exhausted by about 3.30 and decided to leave then as I needed to get home for college at 7pm. Glad we did leave a little early, the traffic on the M1 was not that great and the weather started to deteriorate and I have driving ion heavy rain on the motorway, plus the fact that I may have been bankrupt if I stayed any longer!!!

Anyways, here are my purchases.

Lots of fibres to use with my embellisher.
Some gorgeous buttons.
Neutral fabrics for dying.
Francis Pickering's new book, some stencils and some tools for carving stamps (these are not in the picture, they are already in use!!)

This little bit of fabric was a bit of a splurge, I couldn't resist it, it is hand dyed and just so rich in colour, I love it!

Loved these buttons, I got them from an Australian company who travel over every year for this show!!! They were such nice people, could have chatted with them for ages.

Close up of some of my fibres....are you sensing that there's a bit of a turquoise/teal theme going on???

And now my stash from the Kettering show....quite restrained really!!!

I had the Wendy Vecchi stencil on my shopping list. Leandra had some new colours of Treasure Gold and I got a few bits from the MDF Man....love his stuff.....so reasonably priced.

Just waiting for my parents to arrive so I must fly, have a great weekend.

Sounds as though you really had an amazing couple of days shopping for all manner of stash ...its a funny thing about stash ...it sort of leaps into ones hands.
Your LB Crafts cart photo is really worth holding on to ...part of your history ...I am not sure how you let it all go ...but times change.
Looking forward to seeing what your next create. xx
