To Brighten My Day

The weather was so dull and dreary yesterday, I figured that it was a good enough excuse to have a play day in my studio, so this is what I made using PaperArtsy Hot Picks . I used stamps from HP1214, HP1216 & HP1217.

First up is a card using a colour combo that is not usually my first choice. I do use turquoise a lot and I do use orange a lot but not together......I have to say, i really like it, it could be a new found favourite!!!

The colours are Fresco Finish paint by Paperartsy. That gorgeous turquoise is called Beach Hut but the orange is a colour I mixed myself. I used Pumpkin Soup and Claret. Where you can see a slightly deeper shade of orange on my background, I simply added a touch more of the Claret to create a richer colour.

I die cut a couple of the smallest size Grunge Flowers out of fabric and stitched them to a wound felt flower that was lurking in my flower box. I love how it turned out....will definitely do that again.

The heart collage which has been designed to fit the Tall Heart die was stamped on to some calico and heat set before painting with Fresco Finish paints.

I layered my card on some more fabric before using my sewing machine to stitch all my layers of fabric and card together. This colour combination is certainly a good way to brighten a dull

I'll be back sometime tomorrow with the other project I made, right now Missie Meg the dog is looking at me longingly and whilst it's not raining,we're off for a walk in the park.

Wonder if we will have won another medal by the time I get back.Well done to Helen and Heather, our fabulous rowing ladies!

Two of my most favourite colour combinations in all different shades! Love your card and can't wait to see what else you made.

Meantime hope Meg had a lovely walk!

Lin you are so talented we are very envious, hope Missie Meg got a walk in the dry, Missie El got a home made birthday card from us but she was more interested in her liver for tea and going for a walk, no taste that dog!
