Fresco Finishes and Distress Stains

If you have not yet experienced some of the new Paperartsy Fresco Finish paint, you need to get your hands on some of this stuff as it is amazing. It is an all purpose paint, can be used on any surface and is also an outdoor paint. I've got lots of techniques up my sleeve for this paint but I just wanted to show you a technique that I have used many times over quite a few years. I have to admit that it isn't my own original technique but having been using it for 5 or 6 years and I have to admit that I don't know who to give the credit to.....shame on me, but it is a great technique and it works beautifully with the new paint and Distress Stains. Squirt a blob of paint on to your craft sheet, I used Snowflake for these examples. Using a paint brush, streak a small amount of paint over a tag, you do need to make sure you leave some of the tag showing through or the effect will not show.

Thoroughly dry the paint with your heat gun and select a couple of colours of Distress Stains, for this sample I selected Wild Honey and Fired Brick.

Start with the light colour first and spread over the tag.

Sparingly add the second colour on select areas making sure not to cover the complete tag.

Take a baby wipe and blend. It's a fabulous technique and really fast too.

For the tag below, I stamped some Paperartsy images with Black Archival ink, added a couple of bits of Tim Holtz Tissue Tape and die cut some metal embellishments using the new Paperartsy Hardware die and Dark Chocolate metal from Ten Seconds Studio. These were edged with a TSS embossing wheel and some of the chocolate paint was then removed with a swish of alcohol ink. A few Idea-ology embellishments to finish and Bob's your uncle......fabby, fast tag!!
