I've had some Powertex in my stash for a while now. I had a bit of a dabble with it on a couple of occasions but this is my first finished piece. the project started life as an off cut of greyboard that had Powertex soaked t-shirt fabric wrapped around. I made a few bits'n'bobs out of air drying clay to decorate it and I was really pleased with it. What I hadn't thought about was the the back of the piece. I left the fabric quite lumpy and bumpy which meant that it was going to be really tricky to mount it securely in a frame.......silly me!!! I then had the idea that it needed something to nestle into and so the project grew into this. It's the back of a canvas.
Because the niche in the back of the canvas is square and my project a rectangle, it looked totally unbalanced. After a day or so thinking about what to do, I decided that as I had already have a small tree, a bigger tree as a buddy might work. I'm not totally in love with it yet, I will probably add something else near the tree but as yet, I have no idea what it will be......any suggestions??????
Here are a few close ups.....loving the texture.
I love how Treasure Gold always enhances texture.

Have to agree with you about the treasure gold Lin, it's the best product I've found to enhance the texture on powertex makes, especially when using the t-shirt material, great tree by the way and I'm sure you'll think of something suitable to add to it xxx
Lin that is gorgeous!! lovey colours too..I absolutely love this stuff..very messy but soooo worth it lol..can't think of any suggestions for the tree..will let you know if I do but not sure it needs anything else xxx
Fantastic Lin - love it. Can't wait to have a go with mine, I really must crack it open soon. Hope you decide what to do with your tree! (which is gorgeous)
So is the tree strips of cotton, soaked in powertex, shaped into the tree shape and then painted? It's very effective.
I've had Powertex in my stash for over a year and not used it yet, mainly because not been well. You have inspired me to get stuck in Lin! See if i can do something over the next couple of weeks. Really enjoyed their first demo at Event City, they have moved on so far since that time. Such a fantastic colour combination :-) xxx
It's lovely x
The tree is made from a bunch of fibres Chris that I plaited together and then I thoroughly painted on the brown coloured Powertex.
So glad that you like it Mo and feel inspired to have a play yourself. It's messy but so much fun.
Wow! Powertex is on my wishlist and that's as far as it's got. The results are amazing and I love your fibre tree. It looks fabulous! Lx

Love this x
Love the canvas. I am sure it will grow on as they say.
Otherwise, may be a little bird on the left hand ( in the picture ) root?
It feels odd to suggest something to you.
