Thank You

I would just like to say a huge thank you for the amazing response yesterday, to the launch of my new PaperArtsy lines. My time line on Twitter went completely bonkers followed by lots of  emails filled with lovely messages.

I would also like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to
Alison Hall
Sue Carrington
Julie Ann Lee
Wanda Hentges
Penny Nuttall
for helping me with the launch blog post. They all made time in their busy lives to create some wonderful artwork for us to showcase the new lines. Please take a moment to click on each person, which will transport you over to their own personal blog where you will be able to see their samples in more detail. Thanks again ladies, you are the best, it was a total pleasure working with you.

Today I would like to share another of my samples with you which uses the little house from ELB14.

To create the first style of house, I sponged some Caribbean Sea Fresco Finish paint over the whole stamp and a small amount of South Pacific around the edges.

Option two, I sponged a small amount of South Pacific through some tiny sequin waste on top of a base of Caribbean Sea.

Here you can see the difference between the two options.

I like to use Ranger's Jet Black Archival ink to stamp the detail on the houses.  Notice how I slightly misjudged the alignment of the house on the left? It creates a little shadow in the doorway and window which actually looks quite cool so no need to stress over getting it right!!!

I have an option 3 for you to try using the residue of paint on the sequin waste. Carefully place it paint side down on the stamp, and use your finger to gently rub over the sequin waste to ensure good contact with the rubber.

Ever so gently, peel away the sequin waste.

This is what you get. It's not perfect but that doesn't matter, after all these houses are really quite quirky!

Once the detail goes on, it looks great.

So now there is a selection of houses that can be cut up and mixed and matched. I love this concept, being able to select the best bits of each house and mashing it together to create contrasting elements.

You can of course add extra shading. I used a little bit of South Pacific around the edges to create some shadows.

And there you have it. I hope this inspires you to have a play yourself, you could even create a whole village! All the new PaperArtsy lines are available NOW at your favourite PaperArtsy stockist.

I love these, Lin! What great ideas and how lovely the houses look with this combination of colourful stamping with the black archival over it. I think these little houses would look great on fabric projects too. My head is buzzing with ideas: thanks for all the inspiration. Many thanks for the mention too. It was great fun working with you and with the Wicked Chickens! Thank you for the opportunity!

Oh I love it! This set sort of dropped into my basket late last night along with one of the bird sets ;-). Looking forward to seeing you at Stevenage (my first visit to that show) when hopefully I'll be getting the paint & more stamps :D. The blog post last night was amazing with fantastic artwork from everyone involved.

Hugs
