Today I would like to show you some close up photos of one of the samples from my launch video. It's the one that I've had the most comments about....the copper metal flower.
I started the background by making a collage with a selection of fabric, lace and woven tape on to a canvas board before painting it with watered down Caribbean Sea Fresco Finish paint.
All the images were stamped on the metal with Stazon ink. When the ink was completely dry, I used my pointy tool (Teflon tipped stylus) to carefully trace over the image. After flipping the metal over (now working on the reverse) and leaning on a foam mat, I used a paper stump to puff out the petals of the flower. I then used a patterned embossing wheel to decorate the edges of the image. This not only creates a beautiful border but also flattens down any sharp edges. Before mounting the flower on the canvas, I had to fill the back to protect it from collapsing. In this instance, I grabbed my Grunge Paste, it worked a treat!! I then mounted it on card for stability with red line tape.
I made a few other metal embellishments to balance out the piece but I also added some Copper Treasure Gold to the lace and textured fabric to carry on the copper theme.
I'll try to pop back tomorrow to share another of my samples.

This is a thing of beauty Lin - truly stunning xxx
Didn't realise all the background was fabric, must try this as it looks fantastic.
Wonderful canvas Lin, definitely one of my favourites from the launch so far:-) xxx
What a STUNNER!
Great Colors, too~
This piece is absolutely stunning. Love it and all of the techniques used in it. Just beautiful.
This is just exquisite, Lin. I love the metal flowers you create and this one looks just perfect on this beautiful canvas. I am planning to invest in some of the accessories you mention and then I hope to return to this tutorial - and the others from earlier - and have a go at creating some metal flowers. If you ever do a class in them, i should be really interested. Thank you for your lovely new collections of stamps, paint and stencils - so much beauty to enjoy! xxx
I love copper so this one really caught my eye so very glad to have the step by step :-)
