Been AWOL again

I'm sorry that it has been quite a while since I lasted blogged.....yes, I am OK, just been beyond busy for the last few weeks but before I give you a quick round up of my busy schedule, I just wanted to thank everyone for the lovely emails and good wishes for Sarah, Chris and Seb.You are all very kind, worrying about them but they are absolutely fine now and they make beautiful family. OK, so where I have I been hiding????? I've been to Version Scrap in Paris with Mr & Mrs Paperartsy, I've been messing around with their fabulous new Fresco Finish paints and exhibiting at Ally Pally.Oh and a spot of shopping for Artsycrafts when we were in Paris too. This is a sample of what I've been making......a bit of a twist on my metal flowers, they have been painted with Leandra's paints and I am in love with the effect. When I get a sec, I will do a step by step for you guys, showing you the whole technique. The trip to Paris was an amazing experience, lots of fun but also a lot of hard work. The fun started when we got to Paris and stopped to get some essential supplies and had ourselves a little picnic of wine, cheese and grapes in the van....very delicious it was too!!! Some of Mark and Leandra's friends very kindly offered to show me Paris at night and what a treat that was. My pictures are not that great, these were taken on my phone but hopefully you'll understand why I was so excited, the Eiffel Tower looks amazing at night. I was a very lucky girl and was taken to some amazing restaurants and had some fantastic meals but this dessert was the highlight of my Parisian dining experience.....melt in your mouth just doesn't come close to describing what it was like. As for the show.....I have been at some busy shows in my time but never in the 18 years that I have been doing this, have I been to a show this busy.

This was one of our delightful customers, Domitillie.I do hope I have spelt her name correctly and she will probably kill me for posting this on my blog too but she was so appreciative of everything we showed her, I gave her one of my samples.

After the show, we ventured into Paris for a spot of shopping. Met up with my dear friend Sally who had done an amazing job translating throughout the show for me. I would have been completely lost without her. We did a spot of shopping forArtsycrafts as well as personal shopping and then headed home as I needed to get ready for Ally Pally. Well, all I can say is that there hasn't been much sleeping going on lately and am very ready for a quieter couple of days.

Ally Pally was a lot of fun. Linda Elbourne was my demo partner for both days of the show, which is always fun having her by my side. Lynne Howe helped Mark man the tills on Saturday and the lovely Karen joined us for the show on Sunday. A big thank you to all who helped out, I couldn't do it without you.

It was lovely to see all my regular Ally Pally customers and to put faces to some of my blogging friends. I do love sharing my ideas at the shows, it's always so much better to see a demo in real life rather than photos on a blog. I had intended to photograph everything I made before giving it away......I started out well, then it got a bit busy and I forgot but here are a couple of pics that I did take.

The next few days will be spent with Leandra, making the projects for Artsycrafts. I know we are late in releasing the details but we have both been a tad busy. We should be ready by the end of this week for places to go on sale, so keep you eye on our blogs. We might even tweet some sneaky peeks this week.

  15. Dear Linda --
I've been waiting for your post about Version Scrap and Paris . . . it has come out and, unbeknown to you, you presented me with two things I was thinking muchly about: first of all a picture of the wonderful tag you made for Domitille -- half of which was in my mind, but the not the details, and I just knew that I wanted so badly to try to make something similar -- and second Domitille's name, itself. She was such a nice person, and I thought it would be fun to try to contact her. Have just been through the comments here, and -- lo and behold -- she has posted with her blog address, so maybe I can find her now. Fun. Wow -- remember that tag was the last of three days of a VERY hectic show -- we did have fun, and I'm so pleased I was there to share it all with you, Leandra & Mark.
Love and big hug - Sally x
