Designs by Ryn Day 2

Today I am posting the second of the two cards that I made using Ryn Tanaka's stamps........
..... Designs By Ryn
I used all the same ingredients that I used yesterday, just a different stamp and a slightly different technique. Today's stamp is SKU CM-F1 African Daisy

1. Stamp the African Daisy on the aluminium with black Stazon ink. When dry, use a pointy stylus to outline the image, don't forget to lean on a foam mat for this, it will make life easier and also give a deeper impression.

2. Flip the metal over so that you are working on the back and use the stylus to hammer some texture in the centre of the flower.

3. Still leaning on the foam mat, use a paper stump to puff out each of the petals of the flower.

4. Working on the front of the metal again, use the pointy stylus to scribble a doodle, this makes a fabulous textured background.

5. Use an embossing wheel to add a decorative border, this will also flatten down the edges of the metal.

6. Take a tiny paint brush and cover the background with black acrylic paint.

7. Using a clean dry brush, I painted some Aquamarine Treasure Gold on the petals of the flower followed by Spanish Topaz for the centre of the flower. I then randomly blended both these colours on top of the black paint.

8. I used my sewing machine on a zig zag setting to attach the metal to some fabric that I dyed with Rusty Hinge Distress Stains and added a few bits of ribbon and lace for the finishing touches.

If you have not had a dabble with metal before and would like to give it a go, the one thing to bear in mind is that you will need stamped images that are crisp, clear with nice open spaces that you will be able to enhance with the techniques that I have shared with you. Designs by Ryn are perfect for this, hop on over Ryn's website and take a look at the lovely designs she has on offter.
