What's been going on lately????

On Saturday I taught my Lynne Perrella Collage class, I do love Lynne Perrella stamps and I think you'll agree that my lovely ladies created some beautiful artwork.

First up is the work of Emma, loving the shades of green.

This one is by Jean who is Emma's Mum. We worked out that Emma and Jean have been coming to my classes for over twenty year!!!!!

This sample belongs to Halina, gorgeous shades of turquoise.

Next up is the work of Alex, daughter of Halina. It was a bit of a Mother/Daughter day which is always lovely to see. I loved Alex's choice of colours, she chose pink and grey as her main colour combo and it really came to life with the addition of copper Traesure Gold. Good luck with all your exams Alex.

This sample belongs to a lady called Karen who came to class by default really. Her lovely friend who had booked the class has been really quite poorly of late and invited her friend to take her place. Karen is very new to inky/painty crafting, she is more of a patchwork/fabric girl but you would never know that she was a beginner would you?

And last but not least was a sample by Kerry. She stepped out of her comfort zone and made a beautiful sample in shades of blue that she wouldn't normally use, but unfortunately, I fear I may have deleted the photo of your sample Kerry. I am so, so sorry but if you read this, perhaps you would be kind enough to send a photo to me please.

I've been having a bit of a dabble with Powertex again. This piece is destined for our newly decorated living room. As yet, I am undecided as to whether it should be a wall mounted piece of if I should mount it on a stand so that it can be displayed on a shelf.

We've been spending some time in the garden too. I can't wait for this little beauty to open fully, it's going to be huge. I bought some bulbs early  in the year and being very new to this gardening malarkey, I really have no clue what I'm doing but I am enjoying the results. I think this is a type of Agapanthus but because I can't find the packaging, I'm not entirely sure. Maybe one of you lovely gardening/flower loving people would leave me a comment to tell me what it is.....I'd love to know for sure as I'd like to get some more for next year.

Well, that's my news for today, I'll be back soon with details of Bucks Open Studios.

  1. What gorgeous creations from the ladies on your class Lin! Love the pink/grey/copper combo but they are all beautiful.

Stunning Powertex (Stonecraft? ) design too. I personally like them as wall art & have a piece waiting to go up.......sometime, lol!

Lovely that you are getting so much pleasure from your garden but I'm afraid I can't help with your stunning flower except to say it does look like an Agapanthus, lol!

  4. Hi, your flower is an Allium. When the flowers are finished, they look beautiful as dried stems. They last for years.
